Who we are

The Indian Association of Medical Music Therapists (IAMMT) is a professional body committed to advancing the field of music therapy in India. Founded with a strong vision to integrate evidence-based practices and India’s rich heritage of music healing traditions into modern clinical care, IAMMT aims to serve as the cornerstone for research, education, advocacy, and community support in the field of medical music therapy.

Vision and Aim

Objectives of The Society

-> To establish, support, and promote research-backed, evidence-based practice of music therapy.
-> To integrate Indian music healing traditions into clinical practice based on research evidence.
-> To promote health and wellness in individuals and communities through music and wellness activities, and to develop clinical research integrating Indian traditional music healing practices for health and wellness.
-> To integrate music therapy into the indigenous alternative system of Ayurveda and support the establishment of Ayurvedic music therapy.
-> To provide up-to-date professional information on music therapy practice, research, and training to its members and to provide a national forum for networking and communication amongst members.
-> To uphold competency-based training programs and the ethical practice of music therapy in India.
